What St. John's Episcopal Church Offers the Community

Senior Center / Nutrition Program

Our Nutrition Program, established in 1974, is funded by the N.Y.C. Department for the Aging and provides lunch to senior citizens each day, Monday through Friday. The Program allows for interaction through many group activities as well as individual socializing. In addition, the program also runs a "Meals on Wheels" that allows those elderly which are home-bound to enjoy a warm nutritious meal.

Suppport / Civic Groups

Understanding the frailty of the human condition and realizing that we have an obligation to help our brother/sisters in need, St. John's provides space to various groups looking for a location conducive to healing and growth. Alcoholics Anonymous is one of the groups that meets once a week in the Parish Hall.

The Episcopal Church Woman (ECW)

Made up of all of our Parish women, ECW provides invaluable services and support to the general operation of the Parish. Acting out the message of Christ, ECW works to see that many of the needs of the Parish as well as her members are met with love and compassion.

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is an international ministry of men within the Anglican Communion. The Brotherhood was incorporated by an Act of the US Congress signed May 30, 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt. That Act states, “The sole object of said corporation shall be the spread of Christ’s Kingdom among men.”
